The Applause

The Applause

A Poem by Anima Akuffo
"

Reactions after a spoken word event.

"

Applause applause

they rose

The prose she gave was bold

At loss at loss

She froze

Too late the truth's been told

Encore encore

They cried

The message that night was clear

No more no more

She tried

But a quivering mess in fear

Retreat retreat

She run

Her work that day was done

Repeat repeat

It's fun

Her words proved she had won
