Hitchhiker

Hitchhiker

A Poem by Wallflower

I feel pathetic.
I feel like I've been waiting here forever.
I feel little.
I feel lost.
I feel like I could go on waiting.
I feel like every cliche I hate.
I feel like I tumbled into your arms.
I feel like I must have tumbled out.
Some slip, some trip, some stupid let up of mine,
I'm sure.
I feel like I ought to have valued the time you were so good to give me.
I feel pathetic.
But I'm only saying that.
I'm perfectly happy here.
To play patience. Or prudence. Or Pollyana.
Whoever, whatever you wish my hitchhiker of a heart to be.
