Namaste

Namaste

A Poem by Alecia T.
"

something like an epiphany

"
And she sat there..
In the middle of the lunchroom,
this crowd of people.
Alone.
Pen & notebook in hand
and smiled.
Around her was this inaudible fog
and bright colors
and figures
like ghost moved about
It was beautiful.

No, she was not high
but, she laughed as though she was
and shed a single tear
they probably looked and wondered,
what in the hell?
judged, of course,
she's crazy.

But what she saw
was something others merely pretend too
It was the value
in other humans beings.

To think,
One day we will get old.
This is the oldest we have been and the youngest we will be,
ever again.

There's a future somebody
next to me
and I just hope to be
a future somebody
to someone somewhere
some day.
And then the bell rang.

"This is the oldest we have been and the youngest we will be, ever again." As a reader and writer- this is the line that speaks to me. I think the rest of the poem needs to evolve if I'm being frank. But... if it was just written as a spur of the moment poetry really for expression rather than impression then its perfect. Namaste.

BTW, I see this is the only poem you have published on here and if you are presently the girl in school as depicted in the poem then you are fairly young so I feel the need to encourage you to keep writing. I hate saying anything negative bcuz you do not know how fragile someone is or how vulnerable they may be at the moment. Make your voice heard- that is the beauty of poetry.
