The Happiest day of my life

My eyes opened lazily
to the first light filtering through the blinds
Dawn dancing along the edges of the horizon
As the c**k crows heralding
            the birth of new Spring.
The dew drops I couldn’t capture
But it lightened my heart I felt I flew
lost in the chill that strengthens
As the day grew brighter
The Sun rose high, soaking me to my bones.
Its Rays sneaking through the leaves
of the big Oak that withstood the trials of time,
A kaleidoscope of colors.
Cleansing all my cares and worries.
The red breasted Robin serenades sweet songs
along with the finches and sparrows and others
Of summer, of sensations, of seduction
of all the flowers that bloomed
I took in their fragrances, giddy.
As the clouds challenged the sun
for their time in the sky
Dark clouds, cumulonimbus all,
Covering the sky, as the first drops of rain
danced upon the sun kissed earth,
The intoxicating smell of the wet dust
that rose in lust and seduction,
Today I fell, slipped embarrassingly.
Yet I laughed as I lay upon the grassy bed
as the rain blessed my face,
By the window I sat,
Basked in the sheer pleasure of
            a perfectly blended tea
Encompassing my taste and smell
As the rain gave way to whispering winds
and autumn dusk
The winds sang through the trees
as the grasses and my wet clothes
Danced to its tune,
And the birds nestled for the incoming night!
Today, the wind rushed through me
baptizing me in its wake
Rebirth, as I gazed at the setting sun
sending its beams through the clouds
The fiery sky that was the suns final patina, wow
The Evening stars, little specks
that the passing of the sun summoned,
As the moon in its glory,
Beckoned me to sleep on the very grass that I fell,
Today, I looked up at the stars
as my old friend, the howling wind,
That kept me company through my young nights,
visited me again, giving me a clear sky.
As I gazed upon the stars,
The winter chill seeped through the material
Today, I slept in the comfort of my old mattress
that knows every nook and corner within me
Keeping me warm so that sleep may overtake me.

And I thought,
Today could be the happiest day in my life,
If only you were here to share it with me.
Yes, I want to wake up to your breathing,
And walk amongst the flowers in your delight.
Hear your laughter amongst the birds’ song.
And when I fell, you would have laughed at my clumsiness,
as I did.
The perfect tea, could have used your love
And I would have made that lover’s
never fulfilled promise of the moon,
And peacefully sleep in your warmth by my side.
Today could indeed be the happiest day of my life!

Well let me ask ya something, is this a poem filled with hope for things to come or a lament of a broken heart? is it a proposal for the future or the sadness of yore! Think about it
Cheers and thanks for reading!

I think more a yearning for that special someone you either have never met or have met and would like to come home. It's beautiful Aleho, vivid and perfumed.. Spiced tea splendour, with a giggle of clumsiness that always seems kind of comfy, how fun.

Its wonderful to read a new write from you, always a beautiful journey.
