so nothing

so nothing

A Poem by Aleksa

so nothing

so nothing happened
to my heart
when you smiled at me the way you used to
( like when we were chatting over morning coffee)
and so nothing happened
to my body
when you held my hand and touched my skin like before
( like when we were about to make love)
so very nothing happened
to my mind
when you said the words that used to light fire in me
( like when you said you missed me )
but love, have my soul shattered
the moment I saw you
taking her home

Powerful climax at the end....and those visibly deleted lines capture perfectly those thoughts we often had and wished we could just "un-think"

Sometimes, the heart really never takes much... to get so shattered into pieces -- the pieces that hardly make any noise around. Such things you passed throu' the very last night. And it'd have been very hard to you to bowl yourself around... as you used to be before earlier that "last night". So holding a pen in a beautiful hand, and letting these words slip down in words you find the most soothing for now. The least, it'd have helped you a bit to fumble your heart, and smooching its puckered heart-beats. Nicely captured. Moments and Memories both are distinctively written in these captivating words.
