Anyone who is familiar with my works knows my fascination with the sea. In particular, nautical myths and superstitions such as "never board a boat with your left foot" or "pouring wine on board a ship will bring good luck to the voyage" - "Never sleep on your stomach" is the one I incorporated here.

The sea is holy to me. I liked this piece, because it's your respect to it, when I fished it was always watching... never had a net.. not either an fishing rod. I watched, and watched... and one day a little baby shark capsized my boat. I guess that was fantastic.
Well written piece, p.s. I was not bored this time ;)
The ocean is one of a poet's regular lovers. And you know how to love it very well. These are legit proverbs, and they will stick in my mind. Awesome. The ocean really is an instructor of life.
Talk about superstitions and myths; I was a sailor in the US navy during the
Vietnam war on a warship with canons, torpedo tubes and nuclear capacity
but our number one superstition was to NEVER let a woman come on deck
before the ship was to be deployed. In fact, if a woman would even walk
near the bow of the ship, the captain wouldn't move an inch until, at least,
24 hours had passed. It had more to do with the luff of the wind than the
bad luck of the woman....Thankfully, those days are gone.
I appreciate your nautical themes sir. Were you a sailor like me?

This makes me think of my father, the eternal fisherman.
Very simple, easy to read and the flow was just perfect, I am particularly fond of the first stanza. There is some deep truth there.
The Poet and the dreamer are distinct,
Diverse, sheer opposite, antipodes.
The one pours out a balm upon the world,
The other vexes it.
