“Reanimators”

Philosophers buried essences

Artists fetched the shovel

Dug up the rot

Slapped on some rouge

Sprinkled some perfume

Never mind the cardboard

Replacing bone

Or the crumpled newspaper

In lieu of organs

Like a mortician

Presenting the corpse

A putrid beauty

To mourners

“Here”

I've dug up many an old philosopher from Seneca to Aristotle it's true...but hopefully I've added a bit more than perfume to the dried bones of parchment past. The wonderful thing about ideals and ideas is that they can be ressurected in greater perfection than they were buried. Leonardo Da Vinci would agree to see the flying machines we have today or Einstein to see his his E=MC2 being challenged as it is. It is the artists who bear the imagination to question and the courage to challenge and the inventiveness to improve...truth can bend with the mind's ability to accept it...but a mind or a heart is like a book or a parachute...they only work so long as they remain open. I enjoy reading your work so much dear friend, you never fail to invoke thought and compel consideration.

did you intentionally make the words look like a body? I have to assume that you did being as how creative you are. This is fascinating.

only you, laughing a little to myself, would come up with a context of words so outrageously real, literally had me sitting on the edge of my seat because the words didn't scroll fast enough for me

Beautiful work, and the scrolling credits effect compliments your work. Really an enjoyable read.

Brilliant! Like everyone else, I'm impressed and a bit tickled by the scrolling text. I also really love the concept of the poem and the idea of bone->cardboard, organs->paper. Really fantastic work. Love the title. I don't have any criticism. This might be my favorite poem of yours so far.

Awesome idea for the eye catching appeal...
An impressive display with the words...which shudder and as always leave me in awe!
