A Poem by Lavi

In that which we wage.

There's a war among us
And it's not going away
No matter what solutions we discuss
There's a darkness here we cannot sway

Some say it's an illness, others a curse
But in the end its the predator within
The part of humankind that desires nothing worse
Than the hate and sorrow fighting to win

It was born inside our hearts
Of buried hurt and lies we couldn't swallow
Twisted our thoughts and made us carve our secret art
With empty promise and a broken truth no one could follow

This war inside our lives we wage
Has fought to overcome that which we cage
