Misfortuned In Love

Everyday my friend Claudia looked herself in the mirror.  Young women envied her beauty and self confidence.  Her soft and white hands had a misterious defect she hid by using black silk gloves.  Delicately garnished by diamonds, the gloves were always complimented and desired by all women, especially those who knew of dark strange powers.  As by magic, all men succumbed to whom would wear those beautiful and elegant gloves.

All girls used to say those gloves had the virtue of magical effects only on Claudia and no one else.  Her best friend Elena, an ambitious and unpredictable selfish girl, disregarded all comments in town and many times imagined herself wearing those two classy pieces of silk.  Elena had a strong personality, which never helped her dealing with opposite ideas.  She had a select group of friends with whom she shared many evenings reading love stories.  She was very much in love, but one day all went wrong and her boyfriend left her.  Her common sense disappeared and heard no advices about anything.  It was hard for her to loose her boyfriend, she would do anything on her power to stop such deep suffering.  Was she ever going to listen to her friends and family?  Why would she even consider taking advantage of a friend?  Is it worthy to do anything for love?  There is dignity to put at risk in order to honor love, but dignity cannot be if used dishonestly.

One day, Elena planned to rob Claudias’ gloves in order to recover her ex-boyfriend who have left her for a younger and prettier girl.  The night of the robbery arrived and Elena’s plan seemed to have no mistakes.  As an old fashioned synchronized clock, her plans for robbery perfectly coordinated every single move, it had to be a success.  While at Claudia’s bedroom, the light on Elena’s hazel eyes denounced her infinite satisfaction of having the gloves she wanted so much.  Now, she was ready and her last and final talk with her ex-boyfriend could not wait, so she arranged to meet with him the following night.  The gloomy and starless night witnessed Elena perform her romantic plans of getting back with her ex-boyfriend.

Elena spoke to him about their love and how every thing could be better, she remembered and recited sweet loving moments.  While she was speaking of forgiveness to him, she never took her eyes away from him...she hoped for happiness as her heart bit anxiously.  Immersed on a deep caring hug, both of her hands put on the magical black gloves.   They fit on her hands perfectly.  The instant contact of the silk with her hands felt as a powerful thunder in Elena’s heart, she felt flames of dark joy while her heart screamed in agony “My love, I love you.”  Her ex-boyfriend softly touched Elena’s long and beautiful long hair and made up his mind, he decided to kiss her.  He held her head with both hands and at the moment of kissing her he saw the disfigure of horror on Elena’s face.  He died victim of her repulsive metamorphism.  Elena was astonished, but a nocturnal silence appeased her heart.  She walked and wandered around in the windy icy night until the first sunlights reflected on her face.  When arriving at her bedroom she thought every thing was a bad dream; full of hope, she wanted to glorify her beauty for the very first time and so she went before her elegant and white framed mirror.  She saw on the mirror an image no one wanted to see, such dry world of wrinkles overwhelmed her soul.  Horrified, Elena  took off her gloves and cried inmensely for she had fallen in a magical trap she would never ever forget ... thus, she was forever misfortuned in love.

This story was great and I read with interest to the end
to find out what was going to happen. I really liked it. This story
reminded me a bit of an urban legend and I always like to
read or hear those!
