rigged, really.

rigged, really.

A Poem by Alice Red

 statistically, i should be dead.

i've read in magazine after article before newspaper sometimes with an ad.

about the polls; the trends.  my generation of disappearances.

physically, i am just waiting around; watching i guess.  taking notes.  observations.

stealing a little of this; taking a little of that.

you know.

a tone of voice.

a snicker.

a sideways wink, when you're flirting in an arrogant manner.

"it's called 'learned behavior'."

ah ha.  yes & we see.

although i hardly do.

God, we're so full of s**t.

us writers.

us artists.

us liar liar liars.

but goodness, we're good at it.

my hair is really dirty blonde, i look too young for my soul & i need to shave my legs.

the thing is, no one cares.

the thing is, you just tell yourself they do.

the solution is: it's already fixed.

I apologize, but I can't think of words to describe this other than AMAZING! I love it, the acidity in the tone matches the syntax and makes the poem. Favorited!
