Your Angel

See? I can write uplifting things. :)

I am a meek and humble soul

Within a tiny frame.

The world lies not in my control;

No power can I claim.

 

I am no sage of word or mind

Nor doer of great deeds.

My strength is of a different kind,

The kind that few can see.

 

I may not be considered much

In great and lofty things,

Yet there is healing in my touch

And refuge ‘neath my wings.

 

I know the sorrow and the pain

You feel when you’re alone.

My wings will shield you from the rain

And carry you back home.

 

I’ll hold you close in strong embrace

And wipe away your tears.

I’ll fill your broken heart with grace

And chase away your fears.

 

I do not know my worldly fate

In leaving what’s above,

But I care not what pain awaits,

For pain is part of love.

 

So by your weary side I’ll stay

And make the shadows flee.

And ‘til the breaking of the day

Your angel I will be.

This is a poem I wrote for a friend. She is writing a story in which one of the characters is an angel who is trapped in the form of a human child. He is a fantastic character. :)

Okay I guess this is your first work that I'm reading and reviewing... You truly put a great touch of upliftment in it which I really enjoyed... The power of healing a broken heart is one of the greatest abilities a human being can ever have... It is such a precious which one should never lose in any cost... We need people like that in the dark broken and selfish world... This is such a beautiful piece of poetry with lots of powerful thoughts.... I really enjoyed how you gave a nice flow to it....
