Scars

Scars

A Poem by AlinaTheCacti
"

Everyone is different, accept them for who they are. People have two sides, one they always show. The other they rarely show.

"
Once I was a child,
Whom was clumsy and crazy,
I dreamt of accomplishing the impossible,
But always fell to the ground,

Hugging a cactus was one,
Licking a rose was another,
Each time I accepted a dare,
Something had been left behind,

The cuts I have on my knees,
represent the dares I have accomplished,
the dreams that I've succeed,
Each impossible had been turned possible,

The bruises I have on my body,
show the times I've exposed myself to the world,
Each beating,
Each jealousy,
Each powerless,

The urge to prove that I was brave,
the urge to prove that I was better,
The life that everyone wants,
Is not the same,

My body is a timeline,
That shows each memory,
and the choices that I've made,

Everyone has accomplished something in their life,
Everyone will accomplish more,
But what matters most in every life,
Is the remains of what you've done.

I like that concept of scars creating a roadmap of sorts that detail the various places we've been in life, and the stories that have unraveled there. Each scar has its own song
