The Little Birds

The Little Birds

A Poem by AllauraRose
"

Birds are able to migrate and move when they need to, yet I am stuck in the same place.

"
Little birds sat on electrical wires
As I was in the car, I saw them free
 Free from everything
They have the ability to leave when they please
If they don't like where they are they can just fly away
With no need for an explanation
The wind under their wing
The sky as their co-pilot
Soaring high above the sky, wherever they feel
They just set up their home where they choose
Become the rulers of the land
Eat what they find
Yet don't have to pay a dime
Free as a bird they say
Thats what I want to be some day
On my own
No one to tell me who to be
No one in control of me, except for me
It may cost more than the birds I saw once before
But at least I will be free
Free from the things that chain me to the ground
The things that have held me down

I love the imagery. From being a carefree child to now a grown up with responsibilities, this poem really resonates with me.
