Melting away

Melting away

A Poem by AllauraRose
"

Thought this would turn out to be cool and eerie.

"
Talking to myself, but is it really me replying?
Seeing these things that aren't really there
A body hanging from a tree
Check again there is nothing

Hear my name yelled out, but no one called it
Thoughts cloud my mind, but they aren't mine
Dreams that are crazy, yet true
Talking but not responding

Hearing a squeak upstairs
Grabbing the knife and tiptoeing
My hand shaking while checking each room
Like I'm in a movie

Forgetting the unforgettable
Remembering unwanted memories
Crying comes so easily, but laughing stays away
Life changing slowly, and no luck at finding the light

Some times things we think aren’t there but we really know they are- life changes but somethings will stay forever- doesn’t have to dark and gloomy it’s actually a blessing that not many understand- believe in yourself and set your mind free- I love it that you are honest and open about what you know to be true- great words🌹

I will do my best to!
I know this place. This disembodied embodyment. This impatience with the unfolding present. Your play on mind/mine, crazy/true, forgetting/unforgetable, remembering/memories, crying/laughter, help the reader connect with the illusive the stays away beyond the veil of knowing. The will to go from room to room with knife in trembling hand witnesses to a willingness to confront the forboding, and inner bravery and desire to ultimately clear threatening illusion. I really like this poem as it braves confrontation with lifes mirages.
