I love poems and songs but have never been a fan of crossword puzzles. Not my cup of tea, but then, we artists have to create for ourselves first.

Thank you Becky for sticking with it...It is not the easiest poem to decipher but YOU NEVER WANT TO MAKE IT TOO HARD TO READ...otherwise, people might give up on it and whatwouldbthe.int(hat)? They are not as difficult to write as you may think, but I ain't giving away the formula.....'cept maybe for a price :))

Wha happened?? Actually Mark, I don't know what the purpose was...40 years ago. So I added the last sentence...and "planets" to try to complete the thought.
We all pontificate and complain and then in a heartbeat we go back to watching "Idol". Not that there's anything wrong with Idol....but you get my point. Our attention span is slightly less than a flea's bite (I just made that up).
The unattainable is most definitely reachable...If we put our collective minds together....
Or something like that

Can't speak for others Chris, I just do what ultimately makes me happy...but I understand your point...I think it's a little bit of both..at least for me. I like to experiment with styles and forms, mostly because I like the way it forces me to concentrate on the various aspects of that particular form, while keeping the message intact.
This poem was written in 1974 when I was really trying to find my voice and develop my own "persona"... I think it helped in this self-discovery process.
I recently wrote a villanelle, not because I was bored but because I never did before and thought I could turn something old into something new.
