The Sea Is Beautiful

Beauty is misleading.

Fear of the unknown is common.
In the ocean there's miles of the unknown.
And it's hiding right beneath your feet.

You never know what's swimming under you.
Crawling, creeping below you.
Can you imagine?

Sinking...
The crushing feeling,
the crawling creatures all around you.

I fear the ocean, but the fear is beautiful.
What you're afraid of is often the most beautiful thing.
Beauty can be misleading.

It's been decades since I've seen the ocean and dipped beneathe it's waves but, oh the memories of what's below the surface!! The fish, the colors, the treasures. Just recalling the few times spent skin diving within the blue waters puts a smile upon my face and joy in my heart. Perhap one day you'll take a swim along a calm beach front and be inspired to share that experience through another fine poem? I hope so. ;~) Sallie Bear
