BetrayalA Poem by PokieCan you look at her in such a place? See something other than pain? Can you watch her scream and shout And still believe she's sane? Can you hear her broken fragile voice And listen to her cries? Her angers flows towards only you And all your twisted lies.
Can you taste the betrayal on your lips And keep that sweet-a*s smile? Watch her die with no regrets And lose her old profile. Can you feel the power that she held Inside her all along? It's all because of you, my friend Now things are far too wrong.
You showed her love and gave her life. You put more in her place. Her smiles lit the darkened room And gave her much more grace. But now it seems it wasn't real, Just more forgotten dreams. And now you couldn't give a s**t How she's bursting at the seams.
You've lost her now, it's all too late. What have you gone and done? There's no one left to comfort you, And you've done all but won. You sit and cry for what was lost Caged in by all lost sense. You fail to realize that what has happened Was all at your expense.
Where has she gone? Will she come back? These questions fill your mind. Of course now, friend, you must learn That now you have gone blind. She's standing right in front of you, But you'll never really know How she smiles in faded light And sets the room aglow.
How much you wish to see her face And hear her one last time. You could, you know, if only you Hadn't gone with such a crime. She lives forever now in peace In effect of only one thing. You've disappeared from her only place, Your voice to never ring.
