War and Chance

War and Chance

A Poem by Pokie

There was a chance we may have missed.

There was a time when

There was a chance

That we may have missed.

I believe we missed it.

Time is an invaluable thing,

But torturous to the heart it is.

There was a chance we missed,

Way back when,

When we were young.

Way back when,

Our hearts too playful for our own good.

There was this chance that we took.

Forbidden it was,

And tortured were our hearts.

For the product of risk and love,

Is conspiracy.

Will there be war?

We are victims of our own demise.

We jumped,

And now we are sinking.

There was this chance I took,

And now I lie here.

Torn

And

Broken.

I have experienced war.

One you cannot, witness.

This war goes on,

It will go on.

You cannot see.

There was this chance I took,

And now I lie here.

Torn

And

Broken.

There was this chance I took,

And now we lie here.

Torn

And

Broken.
