Touch

Touch

A Poem by Alex Ware
"

Changed my life

"
Touch
Not a day passes
When I don't wonder about us.
If I got to grips with life too late
Or if I'd have ever gotten there at all if it weren't for you.
If there are star and moon signs maybe there is fate?

I still make this about me
When there's so much more to see.
You are who you are, are where you're from, are proud and strong.
I wonder if you'd have been just fine, or better off alone.
And if you're so serious, undeniable, how it's carried on so long

For most of life is chaos,
we ignore the paths untrod by us.
You might have found a harder, better, faster stronger man.
Unterrified of uncertainty, not exploding at existence
Someone who'll do much more than I can.

But back to me again
I'm low marks out of ten,
I'm often falling short for you,
defending myself but loving you
Our Venn diagram strains apart but overlaps where you're in my heart
That much is true

It's ok to think of life alone,
Before you that was all I'd ever known.
But now despite our flaws we have so much.
Warm safe cuddles, food and films, love and laughter, a perfect future.
Despite our bumps, my life changed at your touch
