I wear a smile

I wear a smile

A Poem by Allyssianne

I wear a smile so you don't see
But inside,
I rage, curse and cry

You can't see,
What you've done to me
You walk away unscathed
And I remain, broken

I never thought we would break,
That you could shatter my heart
I told you everything
And you listened,
For a while.
Then we started to drift
But I loved you still the same
Nothing could change that
Until you said you
"Can't be bothered."

It felt like a blow
Like a bird of prey
Ripping its talons into my heart
But you don't know
You don't care
As you walk away
Turning out the light
I am left alone in the dark
Alone with my fears.

Sad, sorrowful words, beautifully written.

Ripping its talons into my heart"
