Is War Peace

Is War Peace

A Poem by W. Paul Keoke Maury
"

I thought to myself, does war really bring peace. And I made this poem.

"

If war shall bring guns,

Then we shall bring guns.

If guns shall bring bullets,

Then we shall bring bullets.

If bullets shall bring death,

We shall bring death.

But what if we want peace,

Then dont bring war.

This is really simple, and it's quite effective. :) Just by its simplicity, it makes you think how simple peace could be - just in theory from the rest of the poem. Then the last two lines really throw the reader off a bit, to me, it makes me question the bringing of war and how it might or won't be avoided. But on the simple level, it makes sense; but it still has this paradox in it that all isn't quite as simple. It's a nice poem though. :) Thoughtful. :)

A powerful poem. The eye for a eye world leave us all dead. We need a Jimmy Carter or a Bil Clinton. Men with wisdom and conservation. Your last line told the story. Leave the hate and violence in the distance when the opportunity of peace can happen. A excellent poem.

Ooo! I love it!!
I've always been on the stance that fighting for peace is like f***ing for virginity. It just doesn't work that way.

Ha ha! Everyone seems to tell me that you're a goofy, dumb kid, but you're really pretty deep. I like this side of you.
