Sing For Me

Sing For Me

A Poem by Autumn
"

Life through the perspective of a close friend.

"

Sing for me,

Speak for me,

I know not what I seek,

Or do I?

I was not born right,

People expect more,

That which I cannot give,

But to confess.

I feel I shouldn't live,

Be a part of this world,

If I have to live it like this,

As who I know I'm not.

I was born a male,

But I know I am female,

The need to change,

The need to be myself burns.

Alas, I am held,

Captive of love,

Sparkling in an eye,

I cannot be me.

My choice is not this,

I must accept myself,

For love,

Or die.

Can I pull through,

Break the chains,

Go against nature,

And follow love?

Or will I suffer,

The arrows,

The swords,

The bullet holes?

Sing for me,

Speak for me,

I speak no more,

For I follow you.
