Love's Lullaby

Love's Lullaby

A Poem by Amalie

Sometimes I stay up
Just to watch you sleeping
I wonder what you’re dreaming off in lands so far away…

Of dragons guarding castles
And prince who comes to slay them
I would gladly take them just to be your shining knight…

Of hot and sandy deserts
Arabian nights and magic lanterns
If I had my three wishes babe I’d give them all to you…

Of oceans deep and blue
And of lands you never knew
It’s ok if we never make it back as long as I could mean home to you…

If one day you find me sleeping
And wonder what I’m dreaming
Now is it such a wonder that all I can dream is you…

So I’ll lay my weary head
And hold you the way that I do
And hope deep inside my heart that you are dreaming of me too…

Wow... simply superb flow.. I follow words, flow and don't worry too much about format.. I have to say I'm not much of a fairy tale person but this is certainly a nice fantasy dream writing! There is nothing wrong with fantasizing and I am a dreamer extreme sometimes... more on the reality side but this is very fresh.. passionate and heartfelt. Love all of it especially the last two stanzas as often in reality we feel this way when in love:

If one day you find me sleeping
And wonder what I'm dreaming
Now is it such a wonder that all I can dream is you

So I'll lay my weary head
And hold you the way that I do
And hope deep inside my heart that you are dreaming of me too

Aside from the so many sides of love .. this is some of the best moments.. may or may not be in the afterglow of passion spent.. just simply admiring another in their sleep .. beautifully done!! =)

This was a loving, gentle, and very romantic poem. It conveyed a sense of fairytale life... kudos
