Caterpillar

Caterpillar

A Poem by AmberWind

I was a little caterpillar climbing up a tree

Reaching for the leaf - I was totally free

The wind was blowing, but I was hanging on

Then the human came along

I never got to be that pretty butterfly

I never got to reach that leaf, so near the sky

In that picture, the sky was the limit

That picture was burned in less than a minute

Now I see you, my little caterpillar,

Climbing up a tree

Reaching for the leaf,

You remind me of me

Then I see the human

Running to the tree

But I can’t speak

So again, I see.
