The Phoenix Song

The Phoenix Song

A Poem by Arielle Ann
"

The phoenix is a mythical bird which dies by igniting itself, reborn again from ashes defying the spite if fate instilling new hope...lets see what she sings in her song....

"

From ashes reborn!

You may have heard as I have too,

Glimpsed in those pages you have so often leafed through,

Love bonds with rejoice, they all have said,

Strengthening with age till you are laid to rest.

But have you heard of a love born with pain?

Nurtured with healing, with a hope to regain?

A soul so doomed, straying in the path mislaid,

Scourged with a curse unknown,

Oh! Confined to mere ashes decayed!

Then;

Once the heavens yet humane, did shed her shower of tears,

The first drop touching those ashes, discarded to waste for all these years,

A fledgling stirred; raising her head she fluttered open her eyes,

Bedazzled was she with the blessed dew that aroused her tonight!

Quenching her thirst, staring at the promises anew,

Perplexed and fearful, unwilling to believe,

Breaking into tears, Could this indeed be true?

And then…the hands unfolded, lifting her with utmost care,

Oh! There was her resurgence, held up by her lad so fair!

Fostered by the lover so chaste,

Nourished by the warmth of his arms,

She conceived the solace so true,

Like the crimson hue in the waters sparkling blue!

Blooming in his pristine love,

Casting away her fears at last,

Ripens she to a damsel so rare,

With the grace for the world to stare!

Today they venture to dwell together,

Senescing with age till death and the life after!

Isn’t this the tale of a bird reborn?

“Rebirth from Ashes”, this is what she sings in her Phoenix Song!

A very entertaining story. I like the myth of the Phoenix. Her journey brought to life great story for many centuries. I like the description. Bringing to life in vision the story in the poem.
"Nourished by the warmth of his arms,
She conceived the solace so true,
Like the crimson hue in the waters sparkling blue!"
Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Utterly lovely write! I can so much relate to this... there are moments in life when you are stuck and there is no window left open. Those are the times when you wish somebody to come along and rescue you.... This poem reminded me of a song - "Feels Like Home to Me" This is very well constructed with utmost care.... A jewel among all your writes.. Going to my favorites :)
