Nights And Whispers

Nights And Whispers

A Poem by Arielle Ann

The nights seemed short, but the days were endless

The world seemed small coz their hearts were boundless

Humming and tossing over the sheets they spent

The nights turned lovely but their souls restless!

Sitting by the seaside shore, with so much to say

Lover’s lane was this? The onlookers stared on to stay!

Heedless to the world, engulfed in their shell of love,

Whispers in hushed notes, confessions of that abyssal past,

Their souls overflowing with secrets entombed deep in the ocean vast!

The lass so vulnerable, shunned by the brutal world,

He was her angel, enwrapping her in his eonian love!

Upright and headstrong to those onlookers she encountered along,

But entwined to him she was a woman forlorn!

Lovers made in heaven, he made her believe

Where were you so long my charming prince?

Could not you hold me tight in those days agone.days full of hopeless grief?

Nestled in his arms, “beloved, now you are mine"

A search at last complete, with that love so divine!

To the Virgin Mary with folded hands she prayed,

Let our love so eternal never be laid to rest!
