Addicted

The poem I wrote is about lent, and whatever you gave up for lent could be driving you crazy, because you can't have it or do it. This poem could also symbolize a long distance relationship.

I'm addicted to you, but I know I can't be,

I need to wait until I can see you again,

But I can't help myself!

You're so tempting to me,

It's so hard to say no to you,

You're always on my mind,

You're always in my head,

Watching my every move,

How can I say no to you?

No one knows about you,

No one knows I'm addicted to you,

When you're around me the world stops.

When you're away I can't think straight.

Before I knew about you, my life was the same,

But ever since I discovered you, it changed,

And I don't know if I should hate or like the change,

Should I give in to your temptation and pray for forgiveness?

I know I shouldn't, but what am I suppose to do?

Nothing gets you off my mind!

You are making me feel crazy!

All I can tell myself is how many more days I have left without you,

But even still, the day I see you again feels decades away!

All I can do is twirl my thumbs and hope I can make it to the date,

Why did I become so addicted to you?

Love and addiction are different, but i believe that love can be a drug. Something someone becomes dependent on. I think this poem is about someone who is just deeply in love, not quite addicted.

There is a great difference between addiction and love. I hope you someday find that love. Im sorry to see the review below it is cruel and unkind bitter and jealous I hate that in a man. From the way its worded it is obvious its a man.It was written to hurt your feelings Obviously.

Addicted is not a creative title. Sorry. It's like that movie Requiem for a Dream, is that a good movie? Nah, it sucks, it brings nothing to the table for the narrative of drug abuse, much like how this poem brings nothing new to the world except for self boasting because "hey, I wrote a poem." Your poem sucks.
