This morning

A Poem by An Ordinary Woman
"
... Up before sunrise...
"
our heads poked up, myself and the sun
old friends like us greeting today
with orange smiles and frost

although his race will be different than mine
we will meet again tonight
as he slumbers down under
and me, I just wait to say hello again

I thought of a creamsicle when I was reading this...? lol. Go figure... I think it was the frost and the orange that delighted my senses. Such marvelous use of personification, my friend.

You are one of the few on the site that says so much in so few words, and that proves your talent. You know how sometimes when people meet, all it takes is a simple smile...and something magical happens...

The part of him (the sun, of course) slumbering down under you is nice...

There are two other lines that nudged my heart as I felt their symbolic appeal :

'although his race will be different than mine...
we will meet again tonight'...

There is something so gigantic in those two lines.... I smiled, yet at the same time, felt a little sad.... Perhaps it's just my mood today.... It does change so rapidly sometimes.

There is beauty in your voice.
