From Sea to Stars

From Sea to Stars

A Chapter by Ana Papaya
"

make believe

"
~~~
On the back of a horse
I rode from sea to stars
From the deep blue of ocean
To the bright red of Mars
I touched with my finger
A slow moving ray
Escaped from the moon
To bring night to the day
I grabbed on to a star
As it shot past the sky
Closed my eyes and wished
For the freedom to fly
They sprouted out slowly
Two wings from my back
My silly horse giggled
And took off like a flash
I followed him, flying
Doing somersaults and twists
Twirling ‘round stars
And their bright coloured mist
Catch me if you can!
Came the shout of my friend
So I opened my wings
And swooped down on him
We tumbled and tumbled
Until we hit solid ground
We were back on the earth and
And he was nowhere to be found!
Then I heard a soft panting
And his wet tongue upon my face
I felt his tail merrily wagging
He still wanted to play
It’s almost bedtime Wilbur
We’ll play again soon!
And I made for the house
As the sun turned to moon
I loved the fun and frolic in this Ana if we could only capture that childish imagination more often in our daily lives and let all that silly adult stuff fall by the wayside we would be much happier people
This was amazing :) I love the innocent imagination. This is so playful too! You're riding on constellations and there's mars too. I love outer space so much; and this very much appealed to me
Good coupling. Good theme. And though I know it’s nothing to do with the rhyme itself, what the hell, I’ll say it anyway - I love this font! I want to use it in all my poems, too. Don’t know how you go it though.
I did enjoy the tale in the poetry. The imagination of a child need to be allow to grow to no-ends.
