the walls are whispering again

the walls are whispering again

A Chapter by Ana Papaya

~

the walls are whispering
  telling me your secrets
you're on the other side
and i'm whispering back all of mine
you're so far from my dreams
  so far out of sight
but i'm here still
touching your mind
from the other side
 with mine

I love the title line & how it defines your overall message. I read this to be about almost anything . . . from obsessive thoughts to a long-lost love or even a message to God when suffocating in an enclosed spot. High marks for versatility & telling a fulsome story with brief vivid details (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Good morning, and my pleasure. :)
Yes, seems as though someone has passed, or left, and all that remains is that very unsympathetic blank wall.
Can be difficult in either case, if that is the situation.

Thanks for the thoughtful comment John.
Don't know if this someone has passed.
But the thoughts are still flowing.
Which would be nice.

You are welcome dear Ana.
Some times you walk into a familiar place and feel the essence of that special someone... as if they have left their sentiments of longing for you there. A tender feeling your poem wonderfully conveys, Ana.

It's entirely my pleasure.
Whether at the other side of a wall or world, those connections find us, and when they do, they sink deep and won't let go. This is both tragic and beautiful in a way far different than if I wrote it. Then, every comment would be about me talking to the walls being no surprise, but sometimes life has no discernable sense and to be heard, you'd be as well talking to the walls sometimes. It can be a positive too, that the walls dont answer back, but not very often.
Beautifully penned, as always.

Thank you so much for the generous comment. :)
oh wow! great theme and metaphor ... lots of ways to take this .. all a bit mysterious and voyeuristic perhaps ... but for me ... its the veil ... with lips and ears pressed to it ... in this wonderful connection with those who have crossed over ... how one can long for their touch and words just once more ...
"but i'm here still
touching your mind "
so powerful says i! well done Anna ..thanks for sharing

Thanks so much Mr. E. :)
Talking to the wall are you Ana? For me this is either trying to come to terms with a breakup or it could even be a death. I imagine you awake in bed unable to sleep, churning stuff over. Your short poems always say so much. Nicely conveyed.
