Love, Tears, and Pain

This was written a long time ago. Its when I lost my grandfather.

I see you reach for me

But before my eyes you fade away
I open my eyes
And look for you
But all I see is tears
I close my eyes

And catch myself reaching for your hand
I cry out for you
I get up out of bed
My tears come more freely now
I remember your smile
The way you said my name
They're just a memory now
I head out the door
I see the dew on the lawn
My tears join it on the grass
I walk and walk
My heart and heart
They are hurting and beating to fast
I see the church
I remember the promises
The fun and the games
Then I see it standing
So cold and hard
And through my tears
I see your grave.
