A Few More Moments

A Few More Moments

A Poem by Anand Sehgal

Many a time
my body, my soul gets hurt
while walking the tiring path of life,
and my eyes start searching for
the destination,
at least a tree,
Some broad shades, adequate rest.

Too many mirages mock at me .
Caring very little about those ,
I look at the gores and blisters
on my body .
Knowing  well that the ones residing
in my soul are even deeper ,
I tighten up my chin .

I caress myself, telling -
" A few more moments ,
Receive a bit more than what you thought ,
and the tide will be yours !"

Yes the deepest wounds do tend to be invisible...great poem!

I like how you used "broad shades" as a destination.

Every little reassurance we can give ourselves alleviates the pain, somehow...this is a realistic poem that moves the heart x
