Poison

Poison

A Poem by Anata

As you spoke the words
Venom rolling of your tongue
Thank you for the hurt
Did you think it would paralyze?

As you said the syllables
Silk embossed but untrue
Thank you for the pain
Did you think I'd believe your lies?

As you held me close
Failing to hide your tears
Thank you for the feeling
Did you think I would realise?

As you took my heart
Your light my guidance
Thank you for the memories
Did you think I would compromise?

Relationships, and the pain they cause, beautifully written, and the questions answered by your heart.

I like this poem. Very direct and honest. Most of us will see a snake and be prepare for their desire. Liars will get twisted up in lies sooner or later and be caught. Last line is my favorite. A excellent poem.
