"Touched..."

"Touched..."

A Poem by Chris
"

December

"

Comes a time to pause, catch a breath ...open your eyes and really see.  The pain of being alone is deeper than just absence - more telling than not sharing the good, the bad, the merely AWESOME!  Still more MEAN than living your nightmares in the daylight...

it's that you aren't being...

"Touched..."

I held and rocked you gently

under the stars...

and whipered soft-sweet meanings

and shared gentle then heated

kisses.

...and you held my hands

and we laughed - oh so silly times!

...and we sang and giggled,

spoke aloud those "forever" words

- that finally just weren't meant to be,

but back then - RIGHT then -

they WERE meant and ours - ya know?

And now as our life's light

is so softly fading to black

I remember all we are,

were, and would ever be...

and can't hold back the shadows.

at the time we think of forever, when we are in that feeding frenzy of love and passion that seems like it will never end...and then it does, and what devastation...
i used to think love lasted forever...but a few marriages changed that equation...

a touching piece.

such meaningful love a rare privilege .... at risk of being repetitive, beautifully worded.

Blessed New Year!
I find this not only beautiful and rhythmic, but extraordinarily alive, it's somewhere here, up in the room, in the air, I can feel it moving, it jumps out of the page....

Beautiful memories could either inspire us to move on or lead us to more loneliness. Poignantly sweet piece. I love it.

Precious the afterthoughts and deeds etched into our being, sadly remembered, happily recalled, even though sometimes hidden in those shadows. We shouldn't forget, ever, tis what makes us feel we lived a dream. '.. but back then - RIGHT then - they WERE meant and ours - ya know? '

Beautiful, forever; thoughtful as always.
