"Foolish Moths..."

"Foolish Moths..."

A Poem by Chris
"

"

I was visiting Ed Hart's pages today... His "Fire" -

http://www.writerscafe.org/writing/edhart7/1155531/

led to my thoughts flowing into this:

"Foolish Moths..."

It's Spring

and mirrors lie

and eyes still see

    and the mind ...understands

Fingertips waver and sway

     remembering

     wishing, wanting to seek

...wanting to be...

alive -- burned -- to feel Heart's FIRE

flowing each ...tip

dancing in the springtide

- days and satinsilk nights.

Heat

- and the frantic whispers --

drawing each close and closer still

the turnings, flowings

beings - becomings

     touch and so touched...

Wanted ...wanting ...

wished ...wishing...

...so missed.

Light reflects so softly

from faces watching their stars

     watching the clouds floating away

     watching the waves thunder ashore

watching hands just begging to be given a Rose...

     watching eyes slowly filling

     watching everyone passing by...

breathing the fragrance of each breaths' pause

tasting the essence of a smile

gazing within then through every perception

...and quietly letting go.

I wonder if my wings would have been...

Chris.

A very creative and skillfully done poem.
Very beautiful!

I love all the ways people describe the loving. Some people are soft and shy with it, some people are fast and hot with it. I love all the ways.

Thanks for pausing with me angi and for leaving your thoughts.
Your poem has such rich layers. The reader peels back each one and savors it. We all yearn for that flame that reminds us that we are alive.

I like the construction of this along with the flowing thought line.
An excellent piece. :)

I die in these words...it's so hard to read you sometimes, truly excruciating, that's how talented you are. I do read, always, mostly it's just too hard to comment.

This was chalk full of beautiful imagery, but the think I enjoyed the most was the flow. Such a lilting and quiet flow of words that were still powerful and emotive. Very well written, my friend!

Wow. So I read Ed's then yours and found yours to be a beautiful antiphonal piece. Lush with imagery and deep thought That last line.....yes, this is splendid poetry.

I had to read this several times. All the amazing descriptions you're giving are life. Wonderful warm things that we are drawn to. We get close so we can see them and enjoy them. The wonderful things of life are meant to be enjoyed though, not owned. Just as a moth can't own fire, else be burned to nothing. That's what I got out of it anyway. Awesome poem.
