"The Coffee Cup Was Empty...

"The Coffee Cup Was Empty...

A Poem by Chris
"

ä Monday morning kinda thought

"

"The Coffee Cup Was Empty..."

Sometimes I wonder if my pen creaks

as I scribble a should have been forgotten

thought... and then

the chair creaks as I set the pen down.

The journal creaks as I close it and

bind the covers.

The floor creaks as I stand

and step away from the desk.

Life is about adjusting to existence

not existence adjusting to life.

I think I'll write that down.

Sometimes I creak. But I ignore it until it doesn't exist.

Laughing here...thanks Mark, I needed that.
This is good poetry. I need good coffee, good music and time to think and write. I like the internal thoughts and the ending. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

I seem to have caught you last night... I'm glad something in my thoughts kept you here.
The little connections tha we so often miss or too often find and focus on... Amazing read my friend. I brought coffee and my chair today. Thank you.

Good seeing you "Light"man
This poem expresses an avalanche of connections: Here's a tiny gift poem for you to keep:

A creak,
a sneak
a sound,
has found
a mind
to bind.

You're welcome!
Those spur of the moment thoughts always seem to have the most potential... I like the casual thought process for quite a deep and philosophical message... You created contrast really effectively... Great read, thanks :)

Excellent thought and poem Chris. I like writers that don't need to write a long sermon to get a point across. Great poem.

H'lo Dye... seems there is always something to think about within my eyes... who'ld a thunk?
Very interesting. I enjoyed they way you phrased the first line, by wondering if the pen creaked, but as you went along with the poem, your creakings seemed to get more serious. With a chair to a floor, your support. What keeps you upright and standing. Without a floor, you'd just fall.
In this daily activity happens countless amount of times, you symbolize life itself. Using the image to explain your thought written below. Very nicely done.

To a true seer, and feeler all creaks, it's just the breath of the things you catch Chris, and you do it with such a poetic eye! ;)

I think you're right my friend... :) "Smiling here"
