"Moonbeams..."

"Moonbeams..."

A Poem by Chris
"

step-pause-step-pause...

"
Step...
Pause...
Step...
Pause...

“Moonbeams…”

I wonder if time DOES travel

and to where she would go -

whom does time visit?

- and would it be on-a-dare?

Time...

We all know she flies

- but does SHE ponder the costs...

Does SHE pick and choose -

carryon? Or check?

and still ~ does SHE ...pause?

...does SHE look back?

The receipts are always left behind

falling through my fingertips

as I stare each eternity in the face.

Does my time cry

…as she waves goodbye?

i love a poem with reading instructions:
"Step...
Pause...
Step...
Pause..."
:)

i agree .. very original take on time .. the timeliness of your poem remains eternal in the timeless place ;)
and what happens to her if i am a time traveler .. being tired of second (hee hee) fiddle perhaps i get to say good bye!

i love this poem .. perfect for group discussions ... if one has the time of course :)

I love how you personified time as a 'she' with the sensitive qualities of a human being. Most of the time we describe time as cruel and unforgiving. Maybe our words sting and tear away at her. I shall be more considerate in my way of pausing and speaking with time from now on.

Interesting how the time is a protagonist here and she is a female. A muse. Well, either way she is very powerful if she can travel from past, to present, and future.

Time is allowed to have a life...and a gender to match whim.
I always love the concept of time and how it passes, flies, goes by. I enjoyed the personification of it here~I like the rhythm of your voice~

Chuckling here... sometimes you just "feel" time has a personal interest... ya know?

exactly! I get that. :-)
Moonbeams, nicely penned time is a valuable thing though. I liked the opening verse and loved the ending with some kind of grief on my face.

Interesting take...nice of you to pause.
We place such importance on time; we even chronicled that our creator completed his work in an allotted span of measured days; how foolish of us.

Perhaps time is but a figment of our imagination; but that would be to call our very existence into question.

I always ask the hard questions ...we already know the answers to the easy ones. Hi Beccy
Wow,
I love this one! Time is something that I value and an area where I don't manage well at all.
You did well defining it here.

The time weaves through our life ... Reminds me of the theories presented through stories in the book Einstein's Dreams by Allen Lightman... Time trickles when life is harsh and of course flies when we would wish it to stand still so we can savor the moment. I love your thoughts here written in moonbeams... Such a lovely piece from a lovely heart.

We can all wave the day away and while we wave send an armful of hellos to Chris.
