"To Ken..."

"To Ken..."

A Poem by Chris
"

To and for a man whose "Views" and shared "thoughts" always ...touch.

"

To and for a man (Mr. Ken Simm) whose "Views" and shared "thoughts"  always ...touch.

Your "aerie" and its visual's tones drew me along then set me in a place to find, feel, and listen as the mournings' whims  swirled through coffee'd mysts as only our ghostlets allow.

"To Ken..."

Some walk the lives other's dream,

and some fear the passings - time,

as shades of thens echo their nows and

...and existence - the whys of everything

there ever was.

I've stood tall where feet NEEDED to stand,

knelt where the hand of God ...closed,

so tight I couldn't hear or see

-what "forever" was meant to be,

and sat on crumbling crags gazing into the ...beyond -

both earned and wished,

been found in livid lived memories

and lost in the angst amongst the tears - both

as coffee mysts swirled

and voices gathered in their distance.

I understand ...breathing

and not,

and can choose the whens

and accept - in peace - the times... now.

...And cherish the whens I couldn't.

This I cannot do. This I cannot comment on objectively or otherwise. I can only leave my footprints here for what they are worth.
I can take this gift and try to be humble. I can say it is beautiful, deft and full of the most amazing wisdom but in trying very hard not to sound self serving the most I can do is sincerly and humbly thank. It goes beyond me.

Breath-taking tribute from a stellar poet, to another stellar poet. Love this, the timbre, the tone, the respect of it. Absolutely blows me away with its magnitude. Well-written, Chris. Well-deserved, Ken. I laud you both.

I like people and listening to THEIR voices... they have so much of themselves to share.
I am in awe of you!

This poem struck such a chord, it literally brought tears to my eyes.

Janna - thank you for pausing and the shared thoughts.
There are times when a man can bear down with thought, speak in praises of witnessed words, feel enlightened by the collective breath of this poem.

The wizard of Words visits my soul!

Regards,
Al

Ken is amazing! And so are you...truly. Ken paints words on a canvas of heart, and you paint heart on a canvas of meaning. It's an honor to read you both :)

What a beautiful line this is: as shades of thens echo their nows
It seems to capture the essence of this poem in some ways. But perhaps my favorite lines are these:
I understand ...breathing

and not,

and can choose the whens

and accept - in peace - the times... now

A beautiful tribute. Well done.
