Silent Echoes
I'm just an old fool
who cared enough to listen
to others that don't...

I have heard crickets will only chirp when the air reaches a certain temperature as for your listening to others who don't care I'm reminded of a song doctor my eyes, sorry so late to review a poem of yours but you are not alone:to stand corrected the amount of chirps made can give a rough estimate of the temp in Fahrenheit there's an actual formula who'd a think it but back to your poem it does remind me of James Taylor's thoughts

So many times we 'old fools' are content to just listen. A lot can be learned!

Oh my. Much to interpret here. Silent Echoes. When I hear this, there seems to be someone offering something though those offerings go unheard and/or overlooked each time. There's nothing foolish about decency. I believe we should all take the extra moment to listen to someone. Traipsing throughout life with untrained ears leads us to places unheard of. Very honest haiku. Great read, my friend.

I believe that the ones who cannot keep quiet for long do miss out on the fun! Listening to others in a quid pro quo is considered respectable. But listening to others when they aren't listening to you requires much patience and is a great skill which only few possess.
Short yet potent!
