Silent Echoes

I'm just an old fool
who cared enough to listen
to others that don't...

They are quite a delicacy in some eastern climes. Crickets that is, not old fools.
Can I ask why this poem doesn't sport the quotation marks that the rest in your writings list does Chris, out of pure curiousity?

Excellent Senryu, Chris,
I thank you most gratefully for sharing the enjoyment of your unique mind-works.
I think is is to your benefit that you would care enough to listen to others that don't/can't/are too locked in their own heads to, etc; because, it reflects a man fortunate enough to be able to perceive and learn … otherwise, such amazingly original poetry could not grace your page.

May we have more ole fools like you.
I'm privileged and proud to read you! ⁓ Richard : )

We could all stand to be more like the “old fool; who cared enough to listen.” More listening, more compassion, more hope for each others… even, and maybe especially those with whom we disagree.

Well then - "Happy Birthday LadyAnn!"
I don't care for the crickets...very annoying like the background noise that is constantly playing in my head.
However, it is refreshing when someone cares to listen these days!
