We need help in times like these

I started with one line and rhymed and rhymed and rhymed.

As we dot the I’s and cross the T’s
We need laughter in times like these
What with war and disease
Polluting skies and seas
Cutting down trees
The constantly rising fees

Even for necessities

And the slaves begging on their knees
That no one ever sees
As they shrug their shoulders with ease
Not offering any apologies
So hear my pleas
Don’t lock me up and throw away the keys
As we dot the I’s and cross the T’s
We need morals in times like these

Well written poem identifying some of the larger issues that not just we as individuals see or hear about but what the people of the world are being put through and how blissfully ignorant a good deal of people are.
