I am not Jealous of Angels

I am not Jealous of Angels

A Poem by Naomi Montana Walsh
"

Just a tiny poem

"

I am not Jealous of Angels

They fly too high and fall too fast.

They spread their wings as well as selves too thin too far

and one can never truly see their beauty.

all we see is fragments of majesty.

I am not jealous of Angels

They have no home and everywhere is where they have to be at all times.

They can not choose favorites

if they could , would they choose me?

I am not jealous of Angels

Although I used to be.

exotic and captivating exploration of celestial through human and human through the beat of wings~ I chose to take this literally~ your exploration of variations in on mythos and religion reflected in human eyes is mesmerizing~ I love the narrator's assertion and preference for down to earth humanity pulse~ =)~

The enjambment is off a little, but otherwise, this is a wonderful poem expressing growth and forgotten envy. Angels can have various meanings to the reader including me such as my idea of an angel in a poem like this are the ones that stick their nose in the air and act perfect. I don't know, that's my perception of it. However, I think word choice creates a unque subject and I thank you for sharing this piece.

I thought this was funny and sweet. Very light hearted and most enjoyable. The poem is simply put together and yet there is wonderful insight into the subject. I guess angels are a matter of perception and perhaps everyone is an angel in their own way when put in the company of someone that brings out the best in them.

how original you are in your thoughts, wow.. i've never heard anything like this about the infamous angel creatures :)
my suggestions are:
I am not jealous of angels;
They fly too high and fall too fast;
Spread their wings and selves, too thin, too far;
One can never truly see their beauty;
All we see are fragments of majesty.

I am not jealous of angels;
They have no home, and yet,
Everywhere is where they have to be at all time;
They can not choose favorites--
If they could, would they choose me?

the ending is perfect, well done ~L

Deep man, the last line sort of makes me ponder...
You set a really good mood, I got a bit of bitterness, even if that's not what you were going for. Muy bueno.

This is a beautiful piece.
I don't think there is a single thing wrong with it. In fact I would be a bit upset if you changed it at all. The ending put the icing on it for me. Well done.

What I say is I am intrigued... whether you speak of angel literally of figuratively I think you described it perfectly... they are unsung heroes... and a great question... should we be jealous of their courage and selflessness or just be the humans we are.
