The Sky is Falling

The Sky is Falling

A Poem by Meri Kindred
"

Sometimes when I'm alone, I hope the sky will fall, because if it did, then maybe the stars would too,

"
Sometimes when I'm alone,
I hope the sky will fall,
because if it did,

then maybe the stars would too,

My thoughts take me away,
through all the open doors,
and far away from home,
when I'm in your arms,
my fears disappear,

We can walk on water,
if we believe,
because we still have,
our hopes and our dreams,

but love doesn't come free.
Somehow we broke,
the chains of fate,
I can smell smoke,
from the fire that your burning

and now the sky is falling
and we are flying with the stars
because we found out
the sky isn't so high

Sometimes when I'm alone,
I hope the sky will fall,
because if it did,

then maybe the stars would too.

I agree with Mat. The first stanza could definitely be a poem all its own. And being a fan of poems that rhyme I like the meaning in the first stanza as well. It kind of goes like song lyrics a bit though which could work too. = ) Good work.

The first stanza is fantastic. It could be its own short poem. It is what hooked me.

I enjoyed the rest of the poem but it paled in comparison to the first stanza.

I like the 2nd to last stanza as well. The imagery is great. The ending is a bit week with the repetition of the 2nd stanza (this is all opinions so feel free to disregard my statements).

All in all it was an enjoyable portrayal of love.
