A thousand arrows

A thousand arrows

A Poem by Thisismythearpy
"

Another thing written as a folk punk ukulele song. It's a bit odd, but I think I was trying to show how we can overcome obstacles. Just another drunk piece...

"
Holes in my throat
From alcohol and words of lost hope

Metaphoric holes have become physical
Views of my future have become more abysmal

As the holes widen
While the sight narrows
 Loads do not lighten
In my back a thousand  arrows

Slowly draining life

Each arrow is a harmful word
In which I have heard

Every drop of blood that is spilled
Is a reduction of my will

To go on

We fight for life
With new arrows piercing our skin
Some of us can’t sleep at night
Because we feel like we can’t win

We must pull out arrows
Overcome perils
Stand up for a fight

If we do so
You never know
Things might be alright

Keep on going
Keep on fighting

See you on the other side

I love this poem! The way it sounds when you read it outloud, it is wonderful. I am just lost for words, this is amazing!

About
Hello, my name is Chris. I just post the stuff I wrote in my notebook when I ran away home a little while ago when trying to run away from depression, ptsd, and what all caused it all. I'm dead inside.. more..
