They don't know.

They don't know.

A Poem by Anjali

I'm a jerk,
I can't do anything,
That's what they think.
I'm worthless,
I can't even walk, straight.
That's what they say.

But, they never knew,
How much pain I've felt?
How much hardships I've passed?

They don't know.
Still, they say, that I'm a jerk.

Nobody sees the procedure,
They only see the outcome.
They never ask about the procedure,
Just want to know the result.

They don't know.

They'll never know,
Until the time....

When I'm not a jerk,
When, I can do a lot of things,
When I'll prove their thinking wrong.

When I'm not worthless, anymore,
When I'll walk, with my chin up.
When I'll prove their sayings wrong.

When I'll prove them wrong.
When I'll prove myself, right.

They don't know......
Right now.

This poem is so on point! I am a teenager too and I go through these things on a daily basis. Lively write, Anjali! You conveyed the exact things I feel so well. I'm so glad I stopped by :)

Thank you so much!
This poem reminded me a lot of myself as I went through my teen years. Everyone was always putting me down and wondering why I didn't live up to expectations. It's okay though. Things do get better and I love that your poem is all about that. It's about never giving up, and never losing yourself. This poem is something I definitely could have used when I was a teenager, thank you so much for writing it.

Thank you so much for reading! I'm glad that you liked it.
It motivates me of not giving up. For me, your poem is all about the cases of bullying or somehow, discrimination; you expressed through your poem that the one who were bullied by others shouldn't down themselves. Job well done! Keep writing!
Hi, I'm also a 15 yr. old girl like you. It's nice I have read this poem. :D
