Fake hope

Fake hope

A Poem by Anjali

I gave you my cheek to caress,
Not to leave it scarred.

I gave you my body, to touch,
Not to devour.

I gave you my hands to kiss,
Not to leave them forever missed.

I gave you my hair to play with,
Not to drag them therein.

I gave you my soul to keep,
Not to throw it in the deep.

I gave you my heart to love,
Not to kill those little doves.

I gave you me, to lean in,
For the support,
Not for giving me the so called fake hope.

Thank you so much.
hi anjali,
what deep thoughts & feelings, you seem to be writing about personal problems. i think writing about them is very cathartic.

and my goodness i've only just realised that only 15 years old!!!! that makes your poem even better.
:-)

you really write with great emotion. well done, keep up the good work.

Thank you so much for stopping by again! I really appreciate it.😊
And with your words here, you have given everything.

Some people take, and never give in return. Those are the masters of fake hope.

A nice little write; soft and touching with the caress of innocence bereaved.

Thanks... I'm glad you liked it.😊
What a deep and thoughtful poem. On a broader sense it can be a great message for the society to raise their voice against home violence.
