Maybe someday

Maybe someday

A Poem by Anjeline

Marching towards our tulip gardens we often come across some tiny flowers,
Planning to come back we move on unable to see how time has created some invisible bars.
Strolling in the rains with canopy on our head we often come across a wish which we never say,
Suppressing our childish plans our brain also tells us- not now but maybe someday,
Working tirelessly in our lives a little adventure sometimes come in way ,
Thinking it will make us astray we tell ourselves maybe someday.
Planning for our future when a piece of present knocks at our door,
Deciding to give them time later we often allow are busy lives to roar.
Soaring towards our dreams though the cloudy sky when heaven gives us a talent like a sun ray
Fluttering with more speed we pay no heed concluding to praise it maybe someday.

Running to reach the destination we never enjoy the journey,
Forgetting to tell our loved ones that- they make me.
Ignoring all our cravings we wait to fulfill them on a perfect "maybe someday"
Not once realising that all that God gives us to run after is a today
For living the moment doesn't mean abandoning your responsibilities,
Because managing both is what growing up means.
Just remember to make every second count
Never forget that your limits are the mountains you have to mount
So crawl ,walk ,run ,fall ,get up but don't stop today
As those who reside in the present make every day there maybe someday.

It is important to live in the now rather than thinking we will have time in the future to do all the things we want to. Never put off for tomorrow what you can do today, for tomorrow may never come. Nicely conveyed lines Anjeline which have a steady rhythm. A poem that has a message. All good wishes.

Thanks a lot for stopping by, I am glad you liked it :)
i am certainly relating to this piece today....sometimes the present knocks on the door and eliminates the future...a dear friend's husband suddenly passed a couple days ago...took his own life...
their someday is gone now...but their yesterdays were filled with love.

that was incredibly inspiring... everyday is in fact a gift. Not putting things off for that "perfect maybe someday,'' is something I'm trying to unlearn. Bravo on such a wonderful piece!

As long as we keep moving. We are alive. Thank you for sharing the positive and amazing thoughts.

I really enjoyed finding these words here today my dear friend Anjeline and sense you packed this delightful poem with love and good intention... I have now read it several times and like it more and more.... there is a openness, honesty and innocence about it, which I like, but also a very important message comes through loud and clear..

I wonder if there is such a thing as a perfect maybe someday... I certainly hope there is and we can all keep our fingers crossed and hope and wish and pray

my pleasure.. and thank you
Overall, I love your message & relate to it very much. In my 20's & 30's, I took long stretches of time off from working (weeks & months, a few times) to do adventures like backpacking & riding my bicycle across the USA. It's a good thing I did this when I was young & fit, becuz now I am disabled & I can barely walk becuz of constant pain in my legs (neck injury & fibromyalgia). I'm so glad I did many adventures, so now I am still, I can write my stories about these adventures. Now for your poem. I don't feel this is overly long -- you use many good examples, which keeps the reading fresh. I love the first stanza where you SHOW instead of tell with great details. I almost wish the second stanza was not there. It starts to get preachy. Nobody likes being told how to live. We are all doing the best we can already. It's kind of insulting to be told what this poem means when you did a great job SHOWING us (in stanza 1) so don't belabor the point by also TELLING us (in stanza 2). I think this is a fine poem just the way it is. This comment is only to keep in the back of your mind for future inspirational writing. When you start saying people should do this or that, it sounds preachy to me (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
