the wolf

the wolf

A Poem by Annie Gryphon

a Poem every day

will keep the wolf away

that's what she said

when she stepped out of bed

knocking her head

really bad.

Ah, Annie … it is so nice to see you back, Dear Poetess; I thought you'd left with no goodbyes, and that would not do. :)
You always have something uniquely You, so beautiful, thoughtful, teasing one's senses and emotions with your lively dancing pen upon the page.
I love the way you began with a rhyming couplet to set the tone and stir our imaginations right away with the "wolf" metaphor (then, hm … what could be coming next?), and you've got us in your grip, capturing and involving us in triplet lines of mono-rhymes that sweep us up into your brief, but improbable moment to amaze and wrap it all up with your ending, stand-alone line that made me actually "feel" the pain, and it was another kind of "wolf" that hurt, too.
Dang, Gal – you're good, so very good at Free-Styling, and I love it!
Thanks, for sharing another excellent part of your marvelously creative mind, Annie, and thanks for not leaving us for good … hugs to You! ~ Richard

thank you, Levi
You stepped out of bed
And banged his head
Next time, if it`s Jack
Leave him there

Writing is what sets us apart from the rest of creation...Good things flow from words. Short and sweet and very much hitting the point!

Annie looks different now. She took away her mask. Writing poetry in English is fun for me, a very special pleasure (my native and daily life language is German). Reviews are welcome in any way.. more..
