A kiss in the kitchen

A kiss in the kitchen

A Poem by Annie Gryphon

I'm watching the rain

feeling a bit of pain

and just for reason of rhyme

i dive deep back into time

thinking of my love far away

who left on his bike for the day

i remember it was in May

not as rainy as today

i waited for him

his name was not Jim

maybe it was Jack

who came from the back

jumping into my kitchen

i don't want to mention

how much i miss

now and today his kiss.

Haha, you make me laugh out loud. Thanks for reading and commenting!
This was a heart telling piece of loss and remembrance. Short and simple, the poems I enjoy the most in reading because they are true and from the heart.

ha this made me laugh. I've read several of your poems and i rather enjoy them. They're all read smoothly and are enjoyable. The reader doesn't have to stretch his mind deep into philosophical thinking to understand your poems. I like that you have something to say and you say it. Well done. Thank you for your poetry.

I love this!! It made me laugh, the way you were saying something by not saying it. Skating right around and over and through it and finally quietly admitting what was on your mind all along.
Absolutely loved it.

Thank you for your nice comment! So lets hope for rain ...
Ohhh-UM!

Those impulsive, steamy kitchen interludes and hot kisses can certainly cause such aching pain when remembered in moments of urging needs, eh, Dear Annie?

Lovely Rhyming Couplets with spotless rhyme and a sizzling flow virtually sweep us away into your fantasy to enjoy it ohhh-sooo delightfully with you … and, how lovely it is!

Thank you, Annie, for this wondrously appealing piece shared … big hugs! ~ Richard

Now, what was I going to do? ; )
