Fallen Angel

Fallen Angel

A Poem by J.L. Davenport

If my heart were like my bladder- overfilled
No exit would be sufficient
The aching is the same
Therefore, I cry myself to sleep
Someone whispers out my name and with that it is saying
Your quest is to subsist and be wise
For the body is but a tide on a big wave
Like the first, you must tumble through the skies and open your eyes
Like them, you will have to go
Have loins to conceive your ego
Trials to break your pride
Test to strain your spirit
Your only existence is eternity to mend what has been broken
Paradise
Pain will bring you closer to me
When you cry you call my name
We will be together all the same
How quickly can you find your path?
